The fourth edition of the MDF Festival starts on 22nd September!
MUSIC.DESIGN.FORM Festival is a space where boundaries get crossed. It is the moment where we can experiment MORE. It is a dimension that we do not explore every day. The idea of the festival is to blur the boundaries between the fields of art and to check what MORE will be created at the intersection of different genres and styles. We have combined various forms, implementing projects that we do not have the opportunity to present in the artistic season.
It is how MUSIC DESIGN.FORM Festival was born – the experience of the unique architectural space of the Philharmonic in Szczecin, going beyond it more than usual. During the last three editions, we focused on creating spectacular premieres. It was MORE than forty events, stunning with sound, light and space. We checked how many MORE boundaries would the Most Beautiful Building in Europe allow us to cross. We built complex constructions, put up MORE spectacular structures, and took you into a world that, under no other circumstances, had the right to arise any MORE. This time it will be different because boundaries are not crossed only by MORE. Therefore, we will turn to LESS. Minimalism, in its ideological assumption, rejects an opaque and complicated form. Present in music, architecture, visual arts, and everyday life, it is distinguished by its reduction. The spiritual father of minimalism, Mies van der Rohe, used to say that God is in the details. It is the details that fill and inspire people, and the excess paradoxically causes insufficiency. During the fourth edition of the MUSIC.DESIGN.FORM Festival, from 22nd to 26th September 2021, Szczecin will become the capital of minimalism. Concerts, exhibitions, conferences and workshops will take place in the minimalistic interiors of the Philharmonic. But doesn't less mean more? Find out for yourselves with us!
