Paweł Mykietyn was inspired by the architecture of the Philharmonic in Szczecin building. In his premiere work, he wants to take up the challenge of transferring the idea of simplicity and accessibility to the field of a musical piece, thus destroying the recipient's aesthetic habits. The composition, lasting about an hour, is a game of musical form, timbre, architectural space, and a musical work's interactivity with the viewer. The sounds inspired by the Bauhaus idea may turn out to be an attempt to find its functionality, innovation, or economization of the means used in the musical and spatial form.

Less is more, not only in art. During the conference, we will look at various aspects of minimalism, which in the world of ubiquitous consumerism has become the slogan of our era. It turns out that in the 20th and 21st centuries, more and more spheres of our lives are focused on economy, miniaturization and asceticism. The process is guided by various worldviews and attitudes, among which caring for the natural environment and the cleanliness of our surroundings have a significant influence.
During a moderated discussion, experts from Poland and Germany will want to take up the phenomenon of minimalism from the social, cultural and economic point of view. They will talk about sustainable alternatives to everyday consumption and how living in the spirit of minimalism benefits the world and individuals.
The title of the exhibition was taken from one of the most famous minimalist compositions: Composition 1960 #15 (9:05 AM, December 25) by La Monte Young – one of the legendary works created based around the concept of a piece that comes together in the imagination of the author and the recipient. Obviously, “little whirlpools in the middle of the ocean” do form naturally, but the phenomenon usually occurs without human participation, which emphasizes their poetic and ephemeral significance. It also makes reference to the aspect of the absence and disappearing of the man.
Minimalism was one of the last movements of the 20th century avant-garde that changed the history of visual arts. Frank Stella's statement "What you see is what you see" became the motto of minimalists, rejecting the context and emphasizing a “straightforward reading” of an artwork. Learning from this lesson with full consistency, the material work of art was no longer needed. At the same time, it was fetishized, particularly through the commercial sale of minimalist works. Recently, post-minimalist aesthetics has dominated not only the world of art, but also life-style, ranging from design to the populist version of wabi-sabi or zen 'shortcut' guides.
Due to a formal and semantic reduction, minimalism has begun to gain relevance in art, especially in the context of the climate crisis and overpopulation of the planet, fatigue caused by information overload, or appreciating the value of mistake and chance as a source of knowledge. The exhibition will therefore present works that may seem far from minimalism, or that criticize the commercial abuse of the aesthetic. The "organizing" point consists of six art pieces by six artists – six chapters of the exhibition, that lexically show several "rules" regulating the "grammar" of works, or that are derived from minimal art.

Very often, it seems to us that the mind and body are separate and act independently. However, this is not true, so during the Music.Design.Form Festival, we also decided to take care of the physical form of the participants.

Living for and breathing in electronic music for 20 years now, Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe have created a solid piece of history and shown that in the vast spectrum of dance music, where the ordinary world ends, Extrawelt begins. The Extrawelt duo has an individual approach to electronic music. Their creative output is filled with depth and unique harmonies. Playing music live is their favourite form of expression, which we will experience during their concert at the spectacular Lobby of the Philharmonic in Szczecin.

The event will aim to draw attention to the role music therapy plays in the social development of children with various types of dysfunctions. The script and music constitute a result of workshops with students of the State Special Primary School No. 52 in Szczecin.
The therapeutic concert will be a story about diversity and the ability to adjust to others, especially to persons with special educational needs. The name Antipodes refers to the geographical location where the phenomenon of Glow Worms shining with blue light occurs. Here, we mean fluorescent insects living in Australian And New Zealander caves. To enter those caves, you need to obey rigorous rules regarding moving around, acoustics, and other factors, disturbing the harmony of the insects’ natural environment. This unique sensitivity to external factors will serve as a metaphor to get acquainted with the susceptibility of autistic persons to various stimuli and make us more empathetic towards them.
Project realized within a Creative Scholarship of the City of Szczecin.

Erik Satie blurs the boundaries between high and low art in his compositions from the piano series "Gymnopédies", making them attractive to both artists and listeners. The musicians of ÉxQuartet, inspired by the work of the French composer, provoked by the idea of reducing the boundaries in art, in their original compositions undertake the reinterpretation of Satie's musical thoughts, whose moodiness, coherent structure, and simple melody were perceived by many as an announcement of ambience. ÉxQuartet will present two premiere compositions written by violinist Łukasz Górewicz and violist Grzegorz Sadowski.

The concert is focused on minimalist, repetitive music in its various forms. The composers' individual approach to understanding minimalism as a trend and idea takes the form of a spiritual asceticism of Arvo Part on the one hand and an energetic and intense, and sometimes mechanical perpetual motion machine of John Adams on the other. These are also poignant and, in their repetition, disturbing sounds of Tomasz Sikorski. But, on the other hand, they give relief or a kind of optimistic finale by Michael Nyman. The works that make up the concert repertoire contradict the thesis that minimalist music is supposed to be one-dimensional and, given the formal assumptions, be subject to immediate exhaustion.
Jonathan Stockhammer will conduct the orchestra. At an early age, he made a name for himself in the world of opera, symphonic repertoire and contemporary music. In addition, he studies music, which blurs the boundaries between genres: classical, rock, pop and hip hop.
