Paweł Mykietyn
He was born on May 20, 1971, in Oława. Composer. In 1997, he graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in the composition class of professor Włodzimierz Kotoński. In 1995, for the piece 3 for 13, he won the first prize at the UNESCO International Rostrum of Composers in Paris in the category of young composers. A year later, his Epifora won first place at the 4th UNESCO International Rostrum of Electroacoustic Music in Amsterdam in the category of young composers.
Author of two operas, symphonic, chamber, vocal and electronic pieces. Since 1996, he has composed music for most (28) performances directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski, including Tancerz Mecenasa Kraykowskiego at the Powszechny Theater in Radom (1997). He also collaborated with, among others, Adam Hanuszkiewicz, Grzegorz Jarzyna, and Wajdi Mouawad.
He is the author of music for films by, among others, Andrzej Wajda, Jerzy Skolimowski, Małgorzata Szumowska and Šarūnas Bartas. In 2001, he was awarded the Silesian Cultural Prize of the Lower Saxony State. In 2012, he received the Prix France Musique Sacem for the music to the film Essential Killing by J. Skolimowski.
He is the author of music for films by, among others, Andrzej Wajda, Jerzy Skolimowski, Małgorzata Szumowska and Šarūnas Bartas.
